-latest- Starry Cat
very special album. It was a solo release from Sam, band member of julia brown/teen suicide, to
pay for
medical stuff and surgeries of caroline (the viola player). The result are these nostalgic,
homely, fuzzy pieces of music which sound straight out of a dream you almost completely forgot.
The instruments are scattered around the melody, go out of beat, are out of tune, and yet they
never detract from the music, instead giving it a intimate feeling. Sam's voice add a warm and
melancholic texture to the mix, and the lyrics evoke longing and loneliness. Sounds are muffled
and unclear, giving the album its characteristic vibe. I LOVE IT !! Please listen to it. It
makes me wanna cry. Perfect album to cuddle you when you're having a bad day.

Pink Moon
Nick is such a melancholic figure to think about. It's reflected extremely well in his music. He was an amazing artist albeit an insuccessful one, and the fame he could have achieved had he kept making his wonderful music i cant imagine. Read more about him on his wikipedia page. Pink Moon was his 3rd album after 2 others which barely saw the light of day, recorded while he was battling depression and soon to become his last album. His sound his extremely intimate, shy and reassuring, his voice is not so much singing but almost humming the lyrics of the songs which are much abstract and simple, but incredibly evocative. He's not just saying words, he's painting pictures with them, and he lets you wander off in your immagination while holding your pinky with his guitar and piano, which are the main protagonists of the album. Theyre songs stripped to their bare essentials, and that gives them that painful sound of solitude. This is the album. Hawaii Part II
i consider this Tally Hall's third unofficial album. To my knowledge the only member of the band who wasnt involved is Andrew (he's such a cool motherfucker) but the big start this time around is Joe Hawley. It has a very specific sound quality that is very characteristic of him, it's crunchy, it's messy, it's dreamy, and it's more often than not, reversed. I dont know why but Joe likes so much reversing stuff, every song he makes has at least 1 reversed sample and in Hawaai part II a whole song is in reverse. In a commercial or mainstream album this would have been an album killer, but here it's part of the whole and kind of like an omen for the actual song that comes after it, in my opinion the high point of the album (and where the story takes a drastic turn). Oh btw, did u know this thing has an actual plot? it's extremely cryptic and im not gonna spoil it for you, so go listen to it !! Still havent convinced you? Alright then man go fall in a hole you couldnt see
